Fetal Pig Dissection, OOTD

We dissected a fetal pig today in my Biology Lab class. I couldn't bear to do any of the slicing and touching, but I think my hands-on efforts on the crayfish, starfish, clam, frog, and earthworm more than make up for it. My partner was absent, so I tacked on to another group. Continue for some photos!

OOTD

I wore this, and grey cable-knit stockings with jeans. :) I felt cute! I'm a little awkward and had to get a quick snapshot before it started raining again.

(Warning: graphic content coming!)

Dissection

Their anatomy is very similar to ours, which is fascinating.
Tongue! It's crazy!
Heart
Lungs and (I think liver cut up next to it)
Large intestine surrounded by small intestine. Flap on the right is the diaphragm. Cut off flap on the left is the umbilicus and uterus tube.
It made me so sad to see - but they're fascinating...
Trachea (in focus)
The deflated balloon-looking thing to the left of the pink stuff is the stomach
You can't say I didn't warn you. It was a very informative and interesting class today. I feel bad that I couldn't help more with dissection, but we had three other people in our group of five that were more than willing to tear the little guy apart. (Should we be concerned about their mental health?) Haha... Nothing much else happened today. I dressed cute. That's about it.

TTFN. :)

    1. Thank you! :) I actually enjoyed myself, despite the dread I felt all week (about the pig dissection, of course!)

I really like this blue! Haha. It looks good with the black hair, I think.
